TIWAG-Tiroler Wasserkraft AG – a Tyrol-owned business

With profit on ordinary activities in the amount of 93.5 mio Euros and a sales revenue of 853.1 mio Euros in 2020, TIWAG counts among Austria's most profitable electricity providers. The TIWAG Group is also one of the biggest employers in Tyrol: our current headcount is more than 1,300.

We ensure the safe, clean and affordable supply of electricity, gas and heat to private households and business customers in Tyrol.

And we make a valuable contribution to climate protection in Tyrol....

  • by generating electricity from eco-friendly domestic hydropower in existing and new power plants for Tyrol's residents and businesses, and
  • by making every effort to ensure that valuable energy is used economically and efficiently.

Management Board

The TIWAG Management Board consists of three members.

Commercial Director Erich Entstrasser is in charge of Finance & Accounting, Controlling & Treasury and Information Technology; he also heads the Departments of Energy Data Management & Customer Services, Human Resources Management, Corporate Development & Organisation, Legal & Insurance, Real Estate/Surveying, and is responsible for the staff unit Executive Office and Public Relations Office.

Board Member Thomas Gasser is responsible for Power Generation, Energy Trading/Energy Industry  and Electricity Sales, and for the Department of Energy Strategy and Energy Efficiency.

Board Member Johann Herdina manages the Departments of Hydropower Engineering, Mechanical Engieneering, Construction, Technical Facility Management, and Central Procurement.

Education

  • Studied social and economic sciences at Innnsbruck's Leopold Franzens University
  • Qualified as a business consultant
  • Completed the General Management Programmes of Linz University, Emory University in Atlanta, USA, and the University of Toronto, Canada
